3-year-old girl dies in freak mishap

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD, MARCH 6. In a freak mishap, a weight measurement stone hurled reportedly by a shop owner to disperse a group of children resulted in the death of a three-year-old girl.

Akshita, daughter of a milk vendor, Sudarshan Yadav, was playing on the street near her house in Domalguda on Saturday when a grocery store owner, Govind, asked the children to leave the place. When the children continued to play, Govind allegedly hurled the stone weighing 200 grams to scare them away. It hit Akshita on the right side of her temple resulting in a bleeding injury. She was shifted to a private hospital, where she died on Sunday while undergoing treatment.

The Chikkadpally police booked a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder under Section 304 of IPC.

Yadav had lost his eldest daughter, aged 5, last year following a snakebite. The shopkeeper is absconding.
