Think positive, says Shekhawat

NEW DELHI MARCH 7. The Vice-President, Bhairon Singh Shekhawat, has appreciated the endeavour of the Founder Director of Winnerz Track, Surya Sinha, in

motivating not only individuals but the whole society to follow a positive attitude.

Mr. Shekhawat was referring to Mr. Sinha's motivational cassette "Asafalta Hi Safalta Ke Dwar Kholti Hai" that was presented to him in the Capital recently.

"Music cassettes are released daily, but releasing such a motivational cassette is an achievement in itself," added Mr. Shekhawat. The cassette has excerpts from the lives of eminent personalities like the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and sperstar Amitabh Bachchan.

Workshop on bluetooth

NEW DELHI MARCH 7. The Ansal Institute of Technology (AIT), Gurgaon organised a workshop on bluetooth technology for its students of engineering, computer science and computer information systems. The two-day workshop was conducted by experts from the United Kingdom and was assisted by engineers of a UK- based multinational company HandsOn Engineering and Technology.

The important components of the workshop included presentations, demonstrations and hands-on experience with applications and services on bluetooth network in the lab.

Bluetooth is a short-range wireless protocol which is being implemented in many products such as mobile phones, laptops, televisions sets and other similar devices.

During the workshop, various aspects of this technology like the architecture, protocol, the working and setting of the network were covered.

Tiny tots' extravaganza

NEW DELHI MARCH 7. "Journey on a Rainbow'' -- the annual day extravaganza for tiny tots of Amity International School in Noida near here -- was held in the school auditorium this past week.

The founder president of Ritnand Balved Education Foundation, Ashok Kumar Chauhan, and the Chairperson of Amity School, Amita Chauhan, lit the traditional lamp, while the Principal, Mohina Dar, read out the welcome address. The Headmistress, Roopma Singh, presented the annual report. Prizes were also distributed to the deserving winners and the three-day event culminated with the singing of the school song and the National Anthem.

Jamia's Spark 2005

NEW DELHI MARCH 7. A national level fest titled `Spark 2005' was organised by Jamia Hamdard's Department of Management Studies this past weekend.

The fest comprised a half-day seminar on `Corporate Governance and Corporate Social Responsibility' which was inaugurated by Shakti Kak, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Information Technology.

The Vice-Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard, Siraj Hussain, presided over the seminar and emphasised the importance of corporate governance for the young future managers.

The chief guest on the occasion was S.K. Jindal, Chairman of the Jindal Dyechem Limited.

Various teams from across the country participated in the cultural programme and the day ended with the prize distribution ceremony and a vote of thanks by faculty members.
