Policemen on high alert

KARIMNAGAR: The district police have sounded high alert apprehending retaliatory attacks by the Maoists in the wake of the Manala encounter in neighbouring Nizamabad district this morning.

Vulnerable police stations have been fortified by deploying additional forces. Police pickets have been posted at all vital installations and patrolling intensified where VIPs and targets reside.

All targets have been alerted and asked not to venture into the rural areas without informing the police. The police have also intensified vehicle checks and cordon and search operations in select areas.

The police have constituted counter action teams to protect all targets and VIPs. The police are aking the assistance of surrendered naxalites in CAT team operations to identify action team members of naxalites.

The RTC has curtailed its village services.
