This Day That Age
Dr. (Miss) Helen Keller, the renowned American deaf and blind author who is now on a tour of India at the invitation of the Government, arrived in Madras on March 9 from Hyderabad. Dr. Keller, who was accompanied by her secretary, Miss Polly Thompson, was accorded a warm reception at the Madras airport by Mr. Sri Prakasa, Governor, and a number of social workers. Mr. Prakasa greeted her as she alighted from the plane, and her Secretary conveyed the Governor's greetings by touching her fingers. Dr. Keller replied that she was very happy to be in Madras.
