This Day That Age
A Joint Arab Command will be set up in Damascus and will group the armed forces of Saudi Arabia, Syria and Egypt, it was officially announced in Cairo on March 8. The task of the command will be the unification, training, planning and distribution of armed forces. The Syrian Foreign Minister, Mr.Khaled Azem, said that negotiations with Lebanon on the formation of a new inter-Arab Union were proceeding satisfactorily.
