Tiruvallur makes semifinals

CHENNAI, MARCH 10. Tiruvallur DCA beat Madurai DCA by 206 runs to enter the semifinals of the TNCA-S.S. Rajan Trophy inter-district tournament here on Thursday.

The scores: Quarterfinals: Tiruvallur DCA 330 for nine in 50 overs (S. Raghunath 154, V. Goutham 68) bt Madurai DCA 124 in 30.3 overs (Saravana Sundaresan 40, R. Jesuraj four for 28).

Vellore 114 in 35.2 overs (A. Aldrin four for 30) lost to Thoothukudi 117 for six in 36.5 overs.

At Theni: Kancheepuram 168 for nine in 50 overs lost to Erode 172 for five in 42.1 overs (Jaffer Asique Ali 73 not out, Huzefa M. Patel 50).

At Tirunelveli: Tiruvarur 161 in 45.1 overs (Sathishkumar 44, Arunkumar four for 28) lost to Tirunelveli 164 for nine in 48.5 overs (B. Ramkumar four for 35).

Pre-quarterfinals: Karur 124 in 41.1 overs (K. Velmurugan five for 20) lost to Vellore 128 for three in 15 overs (K. R. Arun Karthick 63, S. Manikandan 43).

Thoothukudi 213 in 49.3 overs (Prabhakar 57, Murali Kannan 46, Raja four for 33) bt Dharmapuri 179 in 43.1 overs (Edwin five for 42).
