FDI to touch $8 b

NEW DELHI, MARCH 10. Foreign direct investment would touch $8 billion this fiscal, the Secretary of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ashok Jha, told reporters on the sidelines of India Trade and Investment Forum here. Pointing out that FDI in 2003-04 stood at $4.68 billion, Mr. Jha said the sectors attracting larger FDI in 2004-05 were mainly automobiles, telecom, electrical equipment and consumer durables.
