Rupee climbs to one-month closing high
MUMBAI,
MARCH 10.
The Indian currency on Thursday climbed to an over one-month closing high of 43.58/59 a dollar, driven by robust foreign fund inflows into the buoyant stock market amidst a lingering weak dollar overseas, despite sporadic intervention by the central bank to contain its rise. In generally range-bound trade at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee gained yet another six paise from yesterday's close of 43.64/65 a dollar.
