Sehwag, Dravid share honours

** Virender Sehwag (611) and Rahul Dravid (521) became the 12th and 13th Indian batsmen to aggregate over 500 runs against Pakistan. Sunil Gavaskar (2,089 runs) has the most runs against Pakistan.

** Sehwag (unbeaten on 95 on the 2nd day) became the third Indian batsman after Polly Umrigar (94* at Peshawar, Feb 1955) and Sunil Gavaskar (96* at Karachi, Nov 1978 & 92* at Chennai, January 1980) to remain unbeaten overnight in the `nineties' against Pakistan.

** The partnership of 103 runs between Sehwag and Dravid equals India's best at this venue for the second wicket. Manoj Prabhakar and Sanjay Manjrekar had also put on 103 runs against the West Indies in December 1994.

** Sehwag's century was his ninth of his career in just 32 matches. Among Indians only Gavaskar has more hundreds, ten, after 32 Tests. For the record, Australian Don Bradman had made 17 centuries after 32 Tests.

** Sehwag's 173 fell short by just one run of the highest score made by any individual batsman at this ground. West Indian Jimmy Adams' unbeaten 174 in December 1994 still remains the highest at this venue.

** Sehwag's hundred was the 16th at this venue, which made him the first batsman to score two three-figure innings at this ground. Sehwag had earlier made 130 against New Zealand in October 2003.

** Sourav Ganguly (21) now has exactly 2000 runs in 35 home Tests. He becomes the 11th Indian batsman to aggregate 2000 runs or more on Indian soil.

** Sachin Tendulkar (94) has now been dismissed in the 90s on six occasions. Only Dravid has been dismissed more in the 90s among Indian batsmen - seven.

** Asim Kamal playing in his 61st first-class match took his 50th catch of his career when he held Tendulkar.

** Mohammad Sami playing in his 19th Test match claimed his 50th Test wicket (victim: Dinesh Karthik) of his career. He becomes the 26th Pakistani to do so. — Mohandas Menon
