Mist in the morning

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 10.MARCH 10.MA The morning mist is likely to return in the Capital on Friday, the weatherman said. The sky is likely to remain partly cloudy and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 28 degrees Celsius and 14 degrees Celsius, respectively.

The maximum temperature recorded at Safdarjung on Thursday was 24.7 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was 14.5 degrees Celsius. At Palam, the maximum temperature stood at 24.1 degrees Celsius, while the minimum was 14.4 degrees Celsius.

The maximum humidity at Safdarjung and Palam was 96 per cent and 98 per cent, while the minimum was 54 per cent and 58 per cent, respectively.

Man allegedly jumps to death

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 10.MARCH 10.MA A 57-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the building of the FICCI office in New Delhi on Wednesday evening. He was apparently miffed at the treatment meted out to him by the officials of the history museum located at Mandi House in New Delhi.

According to the police, the deceased, Rajan Tiwari was a driver with the Department of History Museum. He was suspended due to some reason in 1992. However, he fought his case in the Central Administrative Tribunal and won. But, he apparently faced difficulty in getting re-instated.

Fireman dies

NEW DELHINEW DELHINEW DELHI, MARCH 10.MARCH 10.MA The Delhi Fire Service personnel, who had sustained serious injuries when a cooking gas cylinder had exploded after the Maruti car in which it was fitted caught fire at R.K. Puram in South-West Delhi on March 4, succumbed to his injuries today.

According to a fire department spokesperson, Ram Kishan, a driver in the Fire Department who was being treated for his burn injuries at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital for the past two days, died around 6 p.m. Earlier, he had been admitted to Safdarjung Hospital.

On March 4, a Maruti car had caught fire near Malai Mandir intersection in R.K. Puram around 5-30 p.m. A fire tender was pressed into service to douse the flames. As the firemen were about to begin their task, the cooking gas cylinder -- which was being used as a fuel -- exploded leaving Ram Kishan seriously injured.
