Madras Telugu Academy silver jubilee on April 3

T.V.K. Shastri, founder-promoter and chief convener, Madras Telugu Academy, addressing a press conference in Tirupati on Friday.

TIRUPATI, MARCH 11. Madras Telugu Academy has drawn up an ambitious programme for its silver jubilee celebrations scheduled for April 3 in Chennai.

According to the academy's founder and chief convener, T.V.K. Shastri, a big contingent of about 50 leading artistes from the silver screen as well as the small screen and personalities representing different walks of life would be participating The Samaikhya Bharath Gaurav Satkar 2005 would also be presented on the occasion.

Some of the would-be recipients of the Puraskar are the national award winner and cine hero, Vikram, actress Meena, Preeti Nigam, singers, K.S. Chithra, Unni Menon, Sankar Mahadevan, P.B. Srinivas, and to top them all the Tirumala temple fame and its Parapathyadar, Seshadri Iyengar.

Ministers to attend

Prominent among those scheduled to participate, according to Mr. Shastri, are the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Anbumani Ramadass, and his counterpart representing the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Santosh Mohan Deb, the CEO of Prasar Bharathi, K.S. Sarma, the Chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA), C.S. Rao.

Award for industrialist

Leading industrialist and the honorary chairman of the Madras Telugu Academy, P. Obul Reddy, would be presented the special Samaikhya Barath Swarna Puraskar on the occasion in recognition of his multi-dimensional contributions.
