Funds sought to ease water shortage

By Our Correspondent

CHAMARAJANAGAR, MARCH 11. The Deputy Commissioner, Harsha Gupta, said today that a proposal seeking Rs. 6 crores has been submitted to the State Government to ease the drinking water problem here.

He was replying to appeals by the public in the "Phone-in'' programme organised here. The district administration is aware of the problem and it needs funds to ensure proper supply of water to all extensions in Chamarajanagar, he said. Responding to lack of streetlights here, he said solar lights will be installed in the extensions soon.
