KOCHI, MARCH 13. The Holy Mount of Olive in Jerusalem will have the Lord's Prayer engraved in Malayalam from this Easter. The prayer beginning `Swargasthanaya Pithave...,' will be inscribed on a 6 x 3-feet marble tablet. Addressing a press conference here today, Sleeba Kattumangattu Corepiscopa, president of the Holy Land Pilgrimage Association, said that the Minister for Fisheries and Sports, Dominic Presentation, will unveil the plaque at Israel on March 27, Easter day. He said that the permission was granted for engraving the prayer in Malayalam at Mount Olive, following continuous requests from the Association. At present, the Lord's Prayer is inscribed at the Mount of Olive in 139 languages, including the Indian languages of Bengali, Gujarati, Tamil and Sanskrit. A Malayalam mass will be held on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter at Jerusalem, he said. A group of about 200 Malayalis, including Mr. Presentation, priests from different Christian churches, visual-media representatives and social workers will participate in the service.
