Collector inspects construction works

TIRUCHI, MARCH 13. The Collector, V. Pandian, inspected buildings being constructed under the Assembly and Parliamentary Constituency Local Area Development (LAD) funds in Mannachanallur, near here, recently.

He inspected construction of six additional classrooms underway at a total outlay of Rs.17.5 lakhs at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School. While a sum of Rs.13 lakhs was released from Parliamentary Constituency LAD funds, the balance was got from the Assembly Constituency LAD funds.

The school has also been sanctioned another eight classrooms at an outlay of Rs.17 lakhs under the `self-sufficiency scheme.'

The Collector, who inspected the work, directed the officials to construct additional toilets at the school.

Later, he visited the Government Hospital and inspected the work on the construction of a Siddha unit there for which a sum of Rs.two lakhs had been sanctioned from the Assembly Constituency LAD funds.

At Srirangam, he inspected work on construction of the MLA office building for which Rs five lakhs was sanctioned from the Assembly Constituency LAD funds. He directed the officials to complete the work as per schedule.

The Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, M. Manohara Singh, and G. Balakrishnan, Executive Engineer, Public Works Department, were present.
