NEW DELHI, MARCH 14. The International Cricket Council (ICC) Executive Board will discuss a series of important issues at a meeting in Delhi on March 17 and 18. According to an ICC press release, the key topics on the agenda would include a report on the currently suspended Project USA initiative, which is aimed at staging international cricket in America, apart from discussion on the current status of Kenyan cricket. Another significant discussion will centre on the future format of the ICC Champions Trophy. "The ICC wants to establish if the members wish to continue with the 12-team format used for the past two tournaments," said the ICC spokesperson Mark Harrison. "The meeting will also discuss the tax issues surrounding the staging of the ICC Champions Trophy, should it be held in India following the ICC President's meeting with Indian government officials," Mr. Harrison informed. The release added the Board would consider approval of a number of changes to the Memorandum and Articles of ICC and its commercial arm, IDI. Mr. Harrison said, "if approved, these changes will then be proposed to the ICC's Annual Conference in June 2005 for ratification by the Members." The changes include allowing the Executive Board to extend, by invitation, the term of the ICC President from two years to three years. The ICC President will also update directors on his discussions with Indian government officials concerning the current tax issues that are acting as a barrier to the staging of ICC events in India. Pakistan will press hard for the introduction of two neutral umpires in one-day internationals at the ICC meet. "We will definitely go all out for support of the proposal that was initiated by our Board nearly 40 days back. We want to have neutral umpires at both ends in the limited overs internationals on the pattern of Test matches," said Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan
