Partly cloudy

CHENNAI, MARCH 14. The sky will be partly cloudy on Tuesday. Maximum and minimum temperatures will be 34 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively. On Monday, Nungambakkam recorded maximum and minimum temperatures of 33.7 and 25.1 degrees Celsius respectively. The corresponding readings at Meenambakkam were 33.3 and 24.8 degrees Celsius. Humidity at the two centres stood at 69 per cent and 74 per cent respectively.

Medical camp

The Hindu Mission Hospital conducted a medical camp in association with the Lions Club of Kilkattalai near Madipakkam at the Municipality Middle School on Sunday between 8.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. Eight doctors participated in the camp in which 286 persons were treated. Nine cases were referred for free eye surgery and five were referred for general surgery.

Defence pensioners

Defence Pensioners need not come to the Defence Pension Disbursing Office (DPDO) at Teynampet for `Annual Identification,' a press release said. R. Shridharan, DPDO, Chennai said that all pensioners who were drawing pension by ECS through the DPDO should submit `Life Certificate,' along with the withdrawal slips on or after April 1, 2005, to the Bank Manager concerned. The Bank Manager, after identification, will send it to the DPDO, 618, Anna Salai, Teynampet, for the year 2005-06. Nominal rolls are being sent to each Bank.

B.D.S. results

The results of the B.D.S. Degree Examinations held in February 2005 conducted by the SRM Institute of Science and Technology (Deemed University), Kattankulathur, were announced today. The results are available in the University website www.srmuniv.ac.in.
