Three naxalites killed in encounter

KARIMNAGAR, MARCH 15. Three naxalites, including a woman, belonging to the CPI-ML Janashakthi group, were killed in an exchange of fire with the police on the outskirts of Regulagudem village of Mahamutharam mandal today evening.

Police sources said that on credible information about the movement of naxalites in the region, the police launched a combing operation.

After noticing the police, the naxals opened fire. The police retaliated and in the exchange the three naxalites were killed.

Some others escaped under the cover of darkness.

The police recovered a Springfield weapon, an SBBL gun, a country-made revolver, some kit bags and other material from the scene.
