Isolated rain likely in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, MARCH 15. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh and dry weather prevailed over Rayalaseema, Telangana, Karnataka and Lakshadweep.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are: Coimbatore Airport 3, Annur (Coimbatore dt.) and Mannarkad (Palakkad dt.) 2 each and Sulur (Coimbatore dt.) 1.

On Monday, the maximum temperature fell appreciably at one or two places over Tamilnadu, fell at one or two places over rest Tamil Nadu, south Kerala, rose appreciably at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, south coastal Andhra Pradesh, rose at one or two places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and changed little elsewhere over the region. They were markedly above normal at one or two places over coastal Karnataka, appreciably above normal at one or two places over south coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Tamil Nadu, above normal at one or two places over rest coastal Karnataka, rest Tamil Nadu, north interior Karnataka, appreciably below normal at one or two places over south Kerala, below normal at one or two places over Telangana and were generally normal over the rest of the region.

FORECAST (valid until Thursday Morning): Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Andhra Pradesh, coastal and north interior Karnataka.
