PERAMBALUR, MARCH 15. The District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) has submitted a proposal to the State Government seeking an outlay of Rs. 10.65 crores for implementation of the `Total Sanitation Campaign' (TSC) during 2005-07.

In a press release issued here on Monday, the Collector, D. Vivekanandan, said that the proposal envisaged construction of about one lakh individual toilets, seven women's sanitary complexes and 933 toilets in schools.

On the proper upkeep of women's sanitary complexes, the Collector said that steps were being taken to develop gardens around the complexes and cultural programmes were being conducted to create awareness among the public.
