SHIMOGA, MARCH 15. The teaching staff of post-graduate departments of Kuvempu University staged a demonstration at the Jnana Sahyadri, to protest against reports appearing in a section of the press that the university has become an active centre for naxalite activities and that some of the teachers are involved in them. The teachers squatted on the steps leading to the Administrative Block wearing the black badges as a mark of protest, which they staged during the lunch hour. They demanded that the legal action be initiated against newspapers which carried the "false" news.
