Custodial death: four policemen remanded

MUMBAI,
MARCH 15.
The four policemen arrested in connection with the custodial death of Khwaja Yunus, arrested under POTA in December 2002, have been remanded to judicial custody by a local court till March 30. Their lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, said that their bail pleas will be heard in the sessions court at Vikhroli tomorrow.
Senior Inspector Praful Bhosale, Assistant Police Inspectors, Hemant Desai and Ashok Khot, and Inspector Rajaram Vhanmane, were arrested on March 5 by the CID and were in police custody. The court has rejected an application from the CID, for conducting narcoanalysis and lie detector tests.
