NEW DELHI, MARCH 15. The Bharatiya Janata Party has decided to continue its demand for the recall of the Goa and Jharkhand Governors, S.C. Jamir and Syed Sibtey Razi. The issue was discussed at today's meeting of the BJP parliamentary party, the party spokesperson, V.K. Malhotra, told reporters. "The two Governors were guilty of a fundamental sin, and we should not allow this to be forgotten," he said. At the meeting, chaired by the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, L.K. Advani, it was decided to continue the "demand for recall of the two Governors, both inside Parliament and outside," Mr. Malhotra said. Another issue that came up at the meeting was the party's stand on the Patent Bill that was brought in as an ordinance by the United Progressive Alliance Government late last year. The BJP has demanded that the Bill to replace the ordinance be sent to the standing committee related to the Ministry concerned or a joint select committee of Parliament. Mr. Malhotra said the ordinance was a repeat of the patent legislation drafted by the previous National Democratic Alliance Government. "But we want the Bill be discussed in detail, and suggestions, if any, be incorporated."
