KOLLAM, MARCH 15. Karunakaran loyalists here who attended Saturday's regional rally of the `I' group in Thiruvananthapuram are giving last touches to the list for a parallel District Congress Committee (DCC). At a convention of the loyalists to be held here on Wednesday, the list will be handed over to the former Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K. Muraleedharan for approval. Mr. Muraleedharan had confirmed to his supporters here that he would be attending the convention. Mandalam- and block-level office-bearers of the party from the group, DCC members, Youth Congress leaders, KPCC members and former DCC office-bearers have been invited for the convention. It is also expected that Mr. Muraleedharan will announce the expulsion of the official DCC president, Soorananad Rajashekaran, from the `I' group at the convention. The expulsion list contains the names of 10 more party leaders in the district. However, it is doubtful if all of them will be expelled. The names include the Chairman of the Kollam development Authority, A.A. Samad; the Vice- Chairman of the Khadi Board, K.C. Rajan; and the Chairman of the Toddy Workers' Welfare Fund Board, N. Azhakesan.
