HYDERABAD, MARCH 15. A borewell remained a non-starter for two years due to political rivalry between two brothers. This happened at Waddekothapalli village in Warangal district which is the native place of the late Telugu Desam Minister, N. Yethiraja Rao. The divergent demands by Rao's sons -- N. Sudhakar Rao and Praveen Kumar - prevented the borewell from being tapped after it was sunk by the Government with copious flow. Dr. Sudhakar Rao was a TDP MLA in the last Assembly and Mr. Kumar is a Congress ZPTC member in the Warangal Zilla Parishad. The latter was a contender for the Zilla Parishad chairmanship but was edged out in political machination in the indirect election. The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) member, M. Satyanarayana Reddy, raised the issue of the borewell during a debate on drought in the Assembly on Tuesday. He made the point that such rivalries should not come in the way of providing succour to people affected by drought.
