Three killed in coalmine mishap

ADILABAD,
MARCH 15.
Three persons died, while two others escaped when the roof of a closed underground coalmine caved in.
According to Bellampalli SI, Narender, five persons -- Gunda Mallesh, (45), a retired Singareni employee, Gudisela Laxman, (20), his brother, Ramulu, (24), Durgam Ashok, (23) and Mantena Srinivas, (35),-- all labourers and residents of Ganganagar colony of Bellampalli town went to the closed 68 dip mine at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday. While Srinivas remained outside, the four went in to apparently collect coal. After sometime, Ramulu came out to have water when the roof of the mine suddenly caved in burying the three. Retrieval of the bodies will be taken up on Wednesday, Mr. Narender added.
