NEW DELHI, MARCH 15. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) today announced a blanket 15 per cent rebate on property tax. The discount comes as an additional benefit especially for Delhi's senior citizens who already enjoy a 20 per cent rebate. Relevant adjustments will be made in the next fiscal for property owners who have paid their tax for the current financial year. "For instance, if a house owner has paid Rs. 100 as property tax for the current financial, he will be paying Rs. 15 less in the next fiscal," an MCD official explained. Thirty-six of Delhi's industrial areas will also now be paying less tax. MCD Standing Committee Chairman Mukesh Goel said the Corporation had decided to put them in Grade G instead of E for assessing property tax.
