CHENNAI, MARCH 15. The Mylapore police are investigating a complaint from a senior citizen that a bag containing cash Rs 8,000 and land documents were stolen from a hotel in Mylapore on Monday. According to police, the victim, Namasivayam (67) of Shenoy Nagar, came to a hotel on South Mada Street, Mylapore. Leaving his bag, he went to wash his hands. When he returned, he found the bag missing.
Suicide
A 24-year-old businessman from Kolkata, who came to the city for treatment, allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the third floor of a guesthouse in Thousand Lights on Tuesday. According to police, the businessman, A. Sanjay Brahmanik, came to the city with his parents and was undergoing treatment in a private hospital in Thousand Lights area for the past one week. This morning the man allegedly jumped from the third floor of the guesthouse.
Man kills wife
A 35-year-old woman from Thomas Road, Teynampet, died of her injuries at the Government General hospital on Monday. According to police, Krishnaveni was separated from her husband Sethu Subramanian. Four days ago, her husband came to her house and a wordy duel ensued. Sethu Subramanian allegedly attacked her with a sword, injuring her in the leg and shoulder.
