KOCHI, MARCH 15. Sustainfish 2005, a three-day international symposium on sustainable development and responsible utilisation of fisheries resources, will be held at Hotel International on Mahatma Gandhi Road from Wednesday. The Minister for Fisheries and Sports, Dominic Presentation, will inaugurate the event, organised by the School of Industrial Fisheries of the Cochin University of Science and Technology and the University Grants Commission. The Executive Vice-president of the Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment, A.E. Muthunayagam, will inaugurate an exhibition organised in this connection. Addressing presspersons here today, the convenor of the organising committee, B. Madhusoodana Kurup, said experts and scientists from Vietnam, Netherlands, Malaysia, New Zealand, Bangladesh, Germany, Britain and Israel were participating in the symposium.
