`Swapnam' bags five television awards

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 15. `Swapnam', directed by K.K. Rajiv, has bagged five awards, including that for the best television serial, and `Swanthum' three awards in the Asian Paints Apex Ultima Asianet Family TV Awards 2005.

Announcing the awards at a press conference here today, the Asianet managing editor, K.P. Mohan, its vice-president, R. Sreekantan Nair, and the cine actor, Priya Mani, said the winners in 19 categories had been selected through SMS and opinion poll among viewers. The awards will be distributed here on March 19.

`Swapnam', produced by Mathrubhumi television won the awards for the best serial, the best mother role (Sreevidya), best daughter role (Praveena), best son-in-law role (Suresh Krishna), and for the best father-in-law role (G. K. Pillai). Premprakash bagged the award for the best father role in the serial `Avicharitham,' Anoop Menon for the best son role in `Megham', Chippy for the best daughter-in-role in `Sthree oru santhwanum', and Krishnakumar and Sreeja Chandran for the best pair in the serial `Swanthum.'
