BANGALORE, MARCH 15. A van carrying 15 schoolchildren hit a mini-lorry near Krishna Sevasharama Hospital in Jayanagar traffic police station limits on Tuesday morning. Two children were injured, but they are out of danger, the police said. According to the police, the van, which was proceeding to Baldwin Boys' School, did not stop at a traffic signal. Its driver, Mahesh of J.P. Nagar, lost control over the vehicle and it hit a mini-lorry. Raghuvir (10) and Syed Imran (11), who were injured, were taken to a nearby private hospital. The police arrested Mahesh and seized the van.
Man dies in accident
Suresh, 34, an employee of Airtel, was killed when a lorry and his scooter collided on Hebbal flyover on Tuesday morning. Suresh, who was going towards City Market, was taken to a private hospital, where he died, the police said. He lived in Maruthi Nagar, Yelahanka New Town, the police said.
Cyclists killed
Two cyclists were killed in accidents over the past two days. Shanta Kumar (16) of Kushala Nagar was killed when he was run over by a lorry on Ambedkar Medical College Road in Fraser Town traffic police station limits on Tuesday. The police said he worked for a construction contractor. Danaram (20) of Ganigarpet, who worked for a pharmaceuticals dealer, was killed when a private bus hit his cycle near Woodlands Hotel in Upparpet traffic police station limits on Monday afternoon.
