Why turn to private firm for diesel?

CHENNAI, MARCH 16. The Communist Party of India today urged the Tamil Nadu Government to drop the proposal to buy diesel for State Transport Corporations from Reliance.

In a statement here, R. Nallakannu, State secretary, said the concession offered by Reliance could be withdrawn any moment. When there was no problem with the quality or distribution of diesel, where was the need to stop purchase from national companies?

The decision to favour a private company gave room for doubts, he said.
