THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 16 . The Congress Working Committee member, A.K. Antony, today appealed to all leaders irrespective of their factional affiliations to accept the decision of the party high command, which alone could find a solution to the problems in the State unit of the party. Talking to presspersons soon after arriving from New Delhi, Mr. Antony said that the party was facing a major crisis and if issues were not handled carefully, there could be a split. He said that he had intervened in the current factional tussle not as a mediator but as person who loved the party. It took the party several years to recover from the setback from the earlier split. If matters were handled this way, the party's position would worsen. He said he was not concerned about the accusations against him for having intervened in the factional feud. No other Congress leader had faced the kind of criticism he had to face. He said he did not propose to retrace the steps of conciliation.
