Rupee slips further
MUMBAI,
MARCH 17.
Reeling under the impact of soaring oil prices amidst dwindling dollar supplies from foreign funds, the rupee slipped further and extended losses to the third straight session even as the dollar weakened overseas due to a widening U.S. current account deficit. In nervous trade at the interbank foreign exchange (forex) market, the rupee closed at Rs. 43.6550/6650 a dollar, yet another three paise decline from Wednesday's close of 43.6250/6350 after a rally to 43.61/63 in late morning deals. It opened distinctly weak at 43.6750/6850 a dollar PTI
