Canara Bank triumphs

Canara Bank, which won the inter-Bank cricket tournament at the MAC Stadium in Chennai on Thursday.

CHENNAI, MARCH 17. Canara Bank defeated Indian Overseas Bank by 83 runs in the final of the Banks' Sports Board (southern region) inter-bank cricket tournament at the MAC Stadium on Thursday. Deepak Chougule top-scored with 77 not out for the winner.

The results:

Cricket final: Canara Bank 176 for nine in 45 overs (Deepak Chougule 77 not out, S. Depsappan three for 47, K.N. Ananthapadmanabhan four for 41) bt IOB 93 in 27.4 overs (Sreekumar Nair 34, N.C. Aiyappa three for 16). Man of the match: Deepak Chougule.
