Pu.Ti.Na. termed classicist

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, MARCH 17. Absence of pomp, serene ambience, reverential references, insightful recollections and simplicity marked the valedictory of the yearlong birth centenary celebrations of the late Kannada poet Pu. Ti. Narasimhachar, popularly known as Putina.

The function was organised by the Directorate of Kannada and Culture, the Dr. Pu.Ti.Na. Trust and the Central Sahitya Academy here on Thursday. The Jnanpith award-winning writer, U.R. Ananthamurthy, termed him a classicist. "Pu.Ti.Na. was a good poet but not read with the zeal with which his contemporary poets and other writers were read," he said.
