`Govt. aware of lapses in BWSSB'

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE, MARCH 17. The Chief Minster, N. Dharam Singh, on Thursday admitted in the Legislative Council that the Government is aware of irregularities in the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Drainage Board and the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board.

Mr. Dharam Singh was replying to a question by M.R. Tanga of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Some unscrupulous companies have duped the government bodies by presenting invalid or bogus bank guarantees.

The Government has blacklisted such companies and initiated measures, including police cases, against them. It has instructed the authorities concerned to take preventive measures, he added.
