Tributes paid to ex-Minister

NELLORE, MARCH 18. Rich tributes were paid to the late A.C. Subba Reddy, former Minister and veteran Congress leader of Nellore district, on the occasion of his birth centenary celebrations on Thursday. The Minister for Municipal Administration, Koneru Ranga Rao, described A.C. Subba Reddy as an `administrator par excellence'. He said Mr. Reddy had strived hard for the uplift of the downtrodden. The Minister for Primary Education, N. Rajyalakshmi, said Mr. Subba Reddy never aspired for positions. As Chairman of Nellore municipality for more than three decades, he envisaged many development works for the town, she said. The Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, P. Lakshmi, said Mr. Subba Reddy was instrumental in providing the first degree college and first women's degree college for Nellore.
