Man held
at airport
The CD player belonged to Anshul Sharma, who had come from Abu Dhabi by a flight at about 10 a.m. However, it was only after about 45 minutes of his boarding a taxi that he realised that he had left his Aiwa CD player on a baggage trolley outside the arrival hall. Subsequently, Mr. Sharma returned to the airport and reported the matter to the CISF staff who soon learnt that a man had picked up the bag from the trolley. The accused, identified as Om Prakash, was subsequently found at the Tata Indicom booth in the Arrival Hall. On being questioned, he disclosed that he was working with M/s Travelite Agency and had picked up the CD player from the trolley outside the arrival hall. The player was then recovered at his instance from behind the booth and was restored to Mr Sharma, while Om Prakash was handed over by CISF to the IGI police station for further legal action.
Man caught
with knife
Averring that even carrying of a half-blade is not permitted in the operational area as from there it can easily find its way into an aircraft if it falls into wrong hands, the CISF said despite knowing the rules full well the accused, Ravindra Yadav, who was working for M/s Globe Ground India, reached the baggage break up gate of Arrival Airside at the International Terminal with a three inch knife, a six-inch plier and some screw drivers. However, during the frisking, Sub Inspector Sanjay Kumar noticed the sharp-edged tool in the possession of the accused. Thereafter Yadav was detained and interrogated and he allegedly deposed that the leatherman tool (knife) was his personal tool and was meant for personal use.
