MANGALORE, MARCH 19. The "investigative journalist awards 2004" of the NGO Task Force were presented here on Saturday. Nithayananda Pai, columnist of Udayavani, received the first prize. Yogeesh Holla, reporter, Vijaya Karnataka, was given second prize. Chethana Gadiyar and Ashok Kumar Bavikatti, students, MIC, Manipal and School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, respectively, got the first and second prizes in young journalists category. The Mayor, Purandaradas Kuloor, gave away the awards. Varadesh Hiregange, lecturer, Manipal Institute of Communication (MIC), Manipal, was the chief guest. Sudhir Ghate, Chairman of Magnum Intergrafiks, presided over the function. The jury received 23 entries for this State-level contest. Jacintha D'Souza, principal of School of Social Work, spoke.
