By Our Staff Reporter
ERODE, MARCH 20. People have been cautioned against taking anti-Hepatitis injections at camps organised by unauthorised organisations.
Complaints
A press release from the Collector, D. Karthikeyan, said that he had `received information that in the neighbouring districts, one or two children fell sick after being administered spurious vaccination provided by such organisations.' He said that he had received complaints that some organisations distributed pamphlets in the rural areas stating that injections would be administered at subsidised rates. They also collected money from the people, but did not conduct the camps. In some places, spurious medicines were provided. So, he urged the people to visit the nearby government hospitals or PHCs and take such injections. The Collector said that because of the use of contaminated water and taking spoilt food, people were affected with jaundice. To prevent such diseases, Hepatitis injections were provided. Some unauthorised persons with an intention to cheat the public, merely announced conduct of vaccination camps.
