THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, MARCH 20. The Museum Police detained 16 All-India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) activists for attempting to disrupt a fashion show on Sunday evening. The fashion show was held at Vyloppilly Samskrithi Bhavan by the students of Sree Chithira Thirunal College of Engineering. The police stopped the AIDSO activists outside the venue. The AIDSO State unit president, Shajahan, said that fashion shows were an affront to the cultural ethos of Kerala. He said the Government, after consultation with student organisations, had decided to ban such shows on the campus. The activists were taken in a police bus to the Museum station where they were released. No case has been registered against the activists, an official said.
