PONDICHERRY, MARCH 21 . Karaikal and Yanam regions have been sanctioned a trauma care centre each by the Union Health Ministry. The Pattali Makkal Katchi parliamentary party leader, M. Ramadass, said in a release here today that the centres, being set up at an investment of Rs 1.5 crores each, would render immediate care to accident victims. The lack of such centres in the region had been causing hardship to patients all along. Mr. Ramadass said the Health Ministry had drawn up plans to set up cancer care centres in 10 hospitals in the country. He urged the Ministry to include Karaikal Government Hospital for the facility.
