MANGALORE, MARCH 21. The Commerce Department of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunateshwara College, Ujire, will organise a two-day University Grants Commission-sponsored State-level seminar on "Accounting standards - What they are and what they should be" on the college campus from Wednesday. Nearly 100 commerce lecturers from across the State are expected to attend the seminar. The conference secretary, P.N. Udaya Chandra, told presspersons here on Monday that the existing standards issued by international and national boards would be analysed in detail to assess its validity and relevance in the changing business scenario. The former Chairman, Syndicate Bank, N.K. Thingalaya, will inaugurate the seminar. K. Krishnaswamy, chartered accountant from Bangalore, will deliver the keynote address.
