BANGALORE, MARCH 21. The State Government will sort out the problems over admissions to professional courses, the Chief Minister N. Dharam Singh, said today. "In the Government we have a duty to assist these institutions because they are helping educate a lot of people," Mr. Singh said at the inauguration of the M.S. Ramaiah Memorial Hospital, which has been constructed as part of the silver jubilee celebrations of the M.S. Ramaiah Medical College. He paid tributes to the vision of the late M.S. Ramaiah, a philanthropist and educationist, for starting medical and engineering colleges. The Chief Minister urged R. Jayaram, chairman of the Gokula Education Foundation that is in charge of the M.S. Ramaiah group, to help the Government overcome the problem on admissions. "Bangalore has earned a good name because of the presence of information technology and biotechnology firms. We need to make a name as a knowledge capital," he said. The Governor, T.N. Chaturvedi, who inaugurated the hospital urged people to develop a positive attitude to all situations. The time of "sab chalta hai" attitude has gone, he said. M.S. Ramaiah Memorial Hospital is a multi-speciality centre with a 650-bed capacity. Specialists in immunology, oncology, physiotherapy, cardio vascular sciences and neurosciences are available for consultation at the hospital.
