Assistance for Self-help groups

PUDUKOTTAI,
MARCH 22.
As many as 2,101 self-help groups in Pudukottai district have been extended credit-linkage to the tune of Rs. 9.88 crores so far. The credit-linkage has facilitated economic empowerment of women members of these SHGs.
In a release issued here today, the Pudukottai Collector, R. Thiyagarajan, said there was a good response to the concept of Farmers Clubs, being implemented jointly by the banks and the National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (Nabard).
The release said 32 Clubs have been formed in the district so far. He has urged bank officials to promote the concept by forming more number of clubs.
