MADURAI, MARCH 22. The process of publishing another collection of poems of the President, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, is on. The book, containing 160 Tamil poems, will be published by Kannadhasan Pathippagam, Chennai, in about three months. "We have submitted the `dummy copy' to the President and are waiting for the final corrections," Gandhi Kannadasan of the publishing house told The Hindu here today. Mr. Kannadasan, who was here to participate in a function at Yadava College in memory of his legendary father, late Kaviarasu Kannadasan, said poems written by Mr. Kalam and some of the poems posted on the President's website had been chosen for publication. The book would be made available in both domestic and foreign markets. Stating that the publishing house had earlier brought out a version of the President's autobiography in Tamil, he said nearly 1.5 lakh copies of the book had been sold so far. Kannadhasan Pathippagam is opening offices in Sri Lanka and Malaysia to take advantage of the favourable global climate for publishers. In Sri Lanka, the office may be opened within a month through a joint venture and writings of Kannadasan and literature about him will be made available to the Sri Lankans.
