TUTICORIN, MARCH 22. Host Tuticorin retained the title defeating Kolkata 71-58 in the final of the 24th all-India major ports basketball tournament here on Monday. In the third place play-off, Chennai beat Vishakapatnam 66-48. Vasu Venkataramana, Vice-President, Tuticorin Port Sports Council, presided and T. Balakrishnan, Deputy Chairman, Tuticorin Port, gave away the prizes.
Third place: Chennai 66 (Periamarudhu 17, Benny K. Mathew 12) bt Vishakapatnam 48 (C.R. Ramesh 11, B.Y. Dora Babu 23).
