KOCHI, MARCH 22. After years of waiting, Kochi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will soon have a `roof' over its stands. "We plan to start work in a few months, we're just waiting for the approval of our general council. It will be a big blessing for the stadium," said Prof. Antony Issac, the Chairman of the Greater Cochin Development Authority which owns the stadium. "We'll need at least Rs. 10 crore to begin work," he said. Nearly 60,000 spectators in the gallery for the India-Pakistan one-dayer will have to suffer the burning sun on April 2 but there should a nice new roof before the next match comes around. Prof. Issac was speaking on the sidelines of a small function arranged to announce the appointment of New India Assurance as the official insurer for the Kochi one-dayer this evening. The match has been insured for Rs 1 crore. Our Principal Correspondent
