Money for Fed Cup team

NEW DELHI, MARCH 22. The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has announced that it would pay $10,000 to the Indian women's team for the Fed Cup Asia-Oceania group `I' tournament to be held at the R. K. Khanna Stadium here from April 18 to 23.

Forty per cent of the money would be distributed to the players on the basis of their rankings. The No.1 player would get 15 per cent, No.2 10 per cent, No.3 eight per cent and No.4 seven per cent. The captain will get seven per cent and the doctor/trainer will get three per cent.

The remaining money would be given to the players on the basis of their performance and even the non-playing members would get their share.

In case the team wins a berth for the World Group play-off it will get a bonus of $5000. For the next level, it will be $20,000 for the team.
