Rupee ends lower
MUMBAI,
MARCH 22.
The rupee today ended a shade lower against the U.S. currency in an extremely quiet trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, as the bulk of the major participants kept away due to the nationwide bank strike. Closing at 43.7250/7300 a dollar, a shade lower from Monday's two-week closing low of 43.7225/7275, the rupee traded within a tight range of 43.7200 and 43.7700 in muted business, dealers said.
The rupee opened weak at 43.7250/7350 a dollar. The U.S. light crude for April delivery was today quoted at $56.62 a barrel in Asian trade PTI
